All qualified applicants will receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

Teaching Artist

Join our growing team of passionate artists and playful educators as we work to bring families the quality arts & learning experiences they deserve.

Soaring Starts Teaching Artists work directly with the Founding Director on creating and implementing creative, arts-based lessons that teach academic concepts and lifelong learning skills.  Our Teaching Artists work with various ages from birth through 10 years old.  Teaching Artists must be flexible, communicative, and friendly as they lead and model activities & behavior.

Applicants with experience working in a formal education position (classroom instructor, private tutor, etc.) and/or an informal education position (nanny, babysitter, caregiver, etc.) are encouraged to apply.  Applicants with experience in teaching drama, music, visual arts, and/or dance preferred. Bilingual abilities, Early Childhood Certification(s), and/or experience working with a Positive Discipline or Conscious Discipline system a plus.

Teaching Artists are hired as freelancers on a per class basis, with many future opportunities for expansion and further positions as Soaring Starts grows.  We currently have openings for work with both our online and in-person programming, as well as positions in both our public programming and our private, customized programming for families, schools, and community organizations.  We have opportunities for both weekday hours and weekend hours.

Applicants should be comfortable working with young children ages 0-10, and be comfortable speaking clearly, concisely, and warmly with parents.  Proof of vaccination against COVID-19, mask-wearing, and regular handwashing is currently required for consideration for an in-person position.  Applicants interested in exclusively working with our online programming do not need to meet these COVID-19-specific requirements.
